DETACHMENT 5, EDWARDS AFB, CALIFORNIA.  Conducts operational test and evaluation (OT&E) of bomber, tanker, flight training, airlift, special operations, unmanned aircraft systems, and specific intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), command, control, and communications (C3) aircraft and systems.  Detachment 5 conducts OT&E of warfighter systems in operationally realistic battlespace environments to determine their effectiveness, suitability, and mission capability.  Detachment 5’s co-location with the Air Force Test Center provides unique opportunities for integrated developmental and operational test synergy
