Gandara Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center Chief of Public Affairs 3/21/2012 - Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. -- On March 8, the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center Commander Maj. Gen. David J. Eichhorn hosted an annual awards banquet at Kirtland's Mountain View Club celebrating the Center's outstanding performers of 2011 who represent the highest ideals of personal and professional dedication and commitment to a team vision. The evening began with a pre-ceremony reception for each of the 47 nominees where they received special medallions. After the pre-ceremony reception, each of the nominees entered the Mountain View Club ballroom through an honorary saber guard. Dr. J. Michael Gilmore was the guest speaker for the event. Dr. Gilmore is the Director of Operational Test and Evaluation. He is a Presidential appointee confirmed by the U.S. Senate who serves as the senior advisor to the Secretary of Defense on operational and live fire test and evaluation of Department of Defense weapon systems. "AFOTEC is filled with many talented men and women who produce positive impacts throughout the acquisition community through their tireless work at the Center's headquarters at Kirtland AFB, N.M., as well as its five detachments and multiple operating locations around the country," said General Eichhorn. "We are indeed fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated group of Airmen - military and civilian."
