Cadet briefs AFOTEC mentors

Cadet First Class Bryan Freeman briefs Maj. Dan Cammack, left, and Capt. Tom Wegner, right, on a recent Ballistic Missile Defense flight test. Cadet Freeman worked at the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center’s Detachment 4 at Peterson AFB, Colo., for five weeks. He was part of the AFOTEC Mentoring Program that integrates U.S. Air Force Academy cadets into operational test teams during the USAFA’s Cadet Summer Research Program where cadets give up leave to travel and work on real-world Air Force projects.

Investing in the future

USAF Historian visits Kirtland Air Park

Former AFOTEC commanders gather for one-day forum

The Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center hosted six former AFOTEC commanders May 19th at AFOTEC's headquarters at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. The one-day forum's intent was to gain from the lessons of the opportunities and challenges these commanders faced during their time in command and to compare them to the opportunities and challenges that the current commander faces today. From left to right, Maj. Gen. George Harrison (1993-1997), Maj. Gen. Michael Hall (1985-1987), Lt. Gen. Marcus Anderson (1991-1993), Maj. Gen. Stephen Sargeant (current AFOTEC commander), Maj. Gen. Peter Robinson (1990-1991), Maj. Gen. William Peck, Jr., (2000-2003), and Maj. Gen. Felix Dupré (2003-2005).
