KC-46 Test Team and Crew
(Far right) CMSgt. Christopher Griste, Command Chief, Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center, visits McConnell AFB, Kan., to fly a mission on the KC-46A with McConnell’s 22nd Air Refueling Wing and AFOTEC Detachment 5’s lead test boom operator MSgt. Kyle Vanderwagen. The KC-46A is the first phase in recapitalizing the U.S. Air Force's aging tanker fleet. With greater refueling, cargo and aeromedical evacuation capabilities compared to the KC-135, the KC-46A will provide aerial refueling support to Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and partner-nation receivers.
