October 26, 1925 Lt. James H. Doolittle won the Schneider Cup Race at Baltimore, Md. in a Curtiss R3C-2 floatplane racer. He averaged 232.6 mph.
October 26, 1950 Far East Air Forces Combat Cargo Command C-119s delivered 28.5 tons of ammunition, fuel and oil to friendly ground troops near Unsan, some 50 miles south of Chosan.
October 26, 1953 The Convair XF-102, a delta-wing supersonic interceptor made its first test flight from Edwards AFB, Calif.
