JSF ramp expansion underway at Edwards

Jerry Gandy, 95th Air Base Wing Commander, Feb. 25 at Edwards AFB, Calif., for the groundbreaking for the F-35 Apron and Security Upgrades project. The ramp expansion project will provide a parking apron and security fence adding 194,600 square feet of concrete ramp area for eight F-35 Joint Strike Fighter aircraft that will be used by the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, and United Kingdom during F-35 operational test and evaluation. The $4.4 million project was funded jointly with U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy military construction funds and is scheduled to be completed by May 31, 2010.
